The collaboration between sound and dance duet Deriva Arcana, visual artist Correo Electrónico and singer Xiaomi Porno is a radical investigation of multimedia, exploring the emerging possibilities of disciplinary integration to explore the relationships between the physical and the digital.
The core of this project is to explore the idea of horizontal composition, where every discipline has equal input as to the design of the set, level of energy and overall creative direction. Technology is used to create bridges between the disciplines, so that ideas can be reached collectively in a way that would be impossible as individual elements.
This live session — a collaboration with Cinestesia Studios — offers an inside look at the technological tools used in the live performances. It highlights real-time sound control through movement, motion tracking visuals, and excerpts from recent compositions that have emerged from this ongoing creative exchange.
Deriva Arcana is a project formed by Aleta Loop (choreographer and dancer) and Auklerg (musician). Based in Mexico City, the project explores the convergence of performative and sonic expressions through multidisciplinary compositions based on live electronic music and dance performances. In constant search of new stimuli, the project investigates the possibility of interacting with technological tools that enhance creative exploration and constantly collaborates with visual and sonic artists that bring the experience forward.
Recognized for her avant-garde vocals, Xiaomi Porno fuses dark sounds with contemporary influences, giving life to a unique style of experimental industrial synth-pop. Her music transcends genres, provoking introspection and evoking raw emotions in her audience. Her latest EP, More Milk, released in April 2024, directly addresses misogyny and abuse, channeling her fury against the patriarchy through an intense and provocative sonic proposal.
Correo Electrónico investigates how digital culture, performance, and self representation are interwoven with emerging technologies and contemporary visual language. His practice integrates computational approaches to visual art while acting as a space for reflecting on the boundaries between human and machine, code and creativity.

In this live set, Deriva Arcana explores how depth sensors and live coding can be used to control sound through movement. A Kinect sensor captures the performer’s skeleton data in Isadora and sends it as OSC messages to SuperCollider, where it controls synthesizer parameters and triggers, as well as vocal effects used by Xiaomi. This setup enables Aleta to manipulate both instrumental and vocal elements of the sound in real time using her movements.
Simultaneously, MIDI and OSC signals are sent from Ableton and SuperCollider to the visual system, communicating rhythmic patterns and changes throughout the set. This runs alongside live electronic music crafted using Ableton, Reason, SuperCollider, and analog synthesizers.
The visuals are created with a real-time rendering software developed by Correo Electrónico, using Processing and openFrameworks. Kinect sensors track the dancer’s movements and convert them into 3D meshes that respond to gestures and body positioning. The motion tracking captures position and velocity data, which feeds into visual systems that generate particle effects and forms based on the performer’s actions. The software processes audio input and MIDI signals in real time, matching visual elements to frequencies and rhythms for sound-reactive displays.
