  • This project, “Cloudscape,” is an immersive installation that explores the intersection of physical and digital environments. By combining generative AI visuals with fog machines, we created a cloud-like atmosphere that blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination. The installation uses visuals developed in Processing, which were further enhanced by AI models trained through ComfyUI. These visuals, depicting continuously evolving clouds, were projected onto the walls using Millumin, seamlessly integrating with the dense fog to create a unified, immersive experience.

    Construction Process:

    • Developed custom graphics in Processing to establish the visual foundation.
    • Enhanced visuals by training AI models in ComfyUI, utilizing AnimDiff and custom nodes to generate dynamic cloud imagery.
    • Used Millumin to map the visuals onto the physical space for precise projection.
    • Created a dense atmospheric layer with fog machines to simulate physical clouds.
    • Combined the visuals and fog to deliver an immersive experience where the physical and digital seamlessly merge.

Tech Info: This project utilized a combination of software tools, custom frameworks, and hardware to create a seamless and immersive experience. The following describes the technical aspects of the work:

    Frameworks and Software:

    • Processing 4: Used for creating custom graphic visuals and animations.
    • ComfyUI: Utilized for training AI models with AnimDiff and custom nodes to generate evolving cloud imagery.
    • Millumin: Applied for projection mapping to integrate visuals into the physical space.

    Hardware:

    • Computer systems for AI training and real-time visual rendering.
    • Fog Machines: Used to create a dense, atmospheric layer simulating physical clouds.
    • Projectors capable of HD resolution for seamless projection onto walls.
