qblock005aniQ-BLOCK by Okuyama Kazuya is a webapp that allows you to create pixelart objects in 3d. Amongst many options, you can draw objects in 2d first and then extrude, change the background, pixel colour and even send custom size images you created as animated gifs (360 rotation generated for you) and use layers. Probably the most sophisticate 3D pixel art creation tool that I have seen.  Okuyama has created a number of amazing flash apps in the past and this is just one of them. Make sure you check out his portfolio here.

Interestingly, Kris Temmerman has just posted few examples for the 3D pixel game engine he has been working on. Inspired by the same Q-BLOCK and utilising Flash, you can create Pixel3DObjects that have x, y, z, rotationX, rotationY, rotationZ properties and support very basic animation (gotoAndStop). The 3D engine also includes possibility to import external generated 3D objects, a Collada parser witch converts a standard 3D mesh to a 3D pixel object.

Source code is included after the jump (with the two examples) but as Kris notes its not particularly user friendly and most features are incomplete or buggy at this point.
