Created by Sebastian Huber, Johannes Timpernagel and Michael Burk (Schnellebuntebilder) , Epilog is a room installation that uses light, sound and haze to create a 25-minute constantly transforming world of moving images and sounds. Visitors are invited to participate by responding to moving patterns – either on their own or together with others.
Each of the eleven scenes follows a unique principle: Whether your are chased by a simulated, abstract school of fish, or your movements brand into the fog and leave behind a swath out of light. Real time generated sound illustrates the movements and intensifies the immersive experience.
The installation is built using VVVV and PureData for sound and is comprised of two projectors, two infra-red cameras, nine infra-red spots, one PC and surround sound. The interactive floor projection reacts to participants’ movements in real time creating a three-dimensional spaces made of spawning searchlight, reactive light walls and rays that bounce off participants’ bodies.
