Created by Ralph Kistler, ‘Internet of Shrimps’ examines in an ironic and playful way the industries´ promises for an enhanced experience in a completely interconnected smart home, often be acclaimed as the next big technological revolution: the Internet of Things.
07/03/2018Created by Elise Migraine at ECAL, “Twin Objects” is a collection of devices (Tits Me, Pianoze, and Dual Drums) designed to act as a ‘hotline’ in attempt to nurture intimacy and telepresence that long-distance relationships need.
28/11/2017Created by N O R M A L S, “The Future Fishing Training Program” is a film about a speculative device and a programme designed to allow users and companies to discover glimpses of a desirable future through stories and artefacts.
10/11/2017Created by David Colombini, The Weather Followers is a commentary on ‘smart’ applications and predictive, comfortable digital routines. Instead of relying on ‘accurate’ data, intangible algorithms and hidden lines of code-driven lifestyles, this device brings serendipity to your digital life, using constantly evolving weather data recorded by four weather instruments.
12/10/2017Created by Stefan Schwabe in collaboration with Fraunhofer CeRRI and Sebastian Kletzander, Gutfather is a speculative design project comprising a capsule that traverses the human organism and changes its shape through the influence of microbes until it is secreted as an object-bearing imprint of the microbiome.
16/01/2017A complete redesign of his 2014 Jean Tinguely-inspired project, David Colombini’s Attachment is a “poetic machine” that renders physical manifestations of user-generated digital messages (text, images, or videos) and sends them off via biodegradable balloons.
04/01/2017Created at the Köln International School of Design and supervised by Prof. Andreas Muxel, Feedback Machines is a short student project that explores the concept of feedback loops, as an attempt to introduce students to physical computing as well as provide a perspective on the complex topic through experimental explorations.
16/11/2016Created at the Bartlett School of Architecture / Interactive Architecture, Palimpsest uses 3D scanning and virtual reality to record urban spaces and the communities that live in them. The project aims to question/test the implication if the past, present, and future city could exist in the same place, layering personal stories and local histories of the city at a 1:1 scale.
17/10/2016Created by Alexia Léchot at ECAL, Deltu is a delta robot with a personality that interacts with humans using two iPads. Created using arm technology normally found in 3d printers, Deltu uses three different applications on the iPad Alexia built for it, using symmetry as an interpretation, a mirror and a reflexion of our own image.
29/09/2016Created by Saurabh Datta (automato), Poetic Router is a project that investigates the potential of the everyday manufactured IoT platforms beyond what is commonly discussed. Whereas most concerns of IoT are focused on security since every “Chip-‘ed” device is hackable and can be jacked and modded remotely. Poetic Router explores network transmission as a way to generate poetry by scraping the data found on the server links.
11/04/2016Create by FIELD, Unique Flow is a project celebrating the release of new car by Toyota C-HR. It’s imagined as a visual abstraction of the car, highlighting its design and intention, a combination of style, movement and flow. CAN goes behind the scenes!
01/03/2016Huge stroboscopic datastreams, hypnotic human-machine choreographies, a cacophony of Korean, Japanese, English, German, and French – ten weeks ago, from November 25th to 28th 2015, an unlikely cross-cultural exchange took over the all new ACT Center in Gwangju, South Korea. More than a hundred artists, designers, curators, and educators answered our invitation to add their work and voice to the inaugural edition of ACT Festival, an opening celebration for the center’s monumental facilities.
05/02/2016Created as a collaboration between 9 artists, It’s doing it is an online group exhibition of computer generated images that autonomously updates on a daily basis over the course of 45 days. All of the works in the show are instruction-based artworks expressed through computer programs written by the artists. These programs generate new images once daily that can be viewed on the website.
15/12/2015Cathedral-in-the-Clouds is virtual diorama by Tale of Tales created to contemplate ancient religious themes in real-time 3D. The project is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
29/10/2015Created by Tim Clark at the Royal College of Art, Design Interactions, High Speed Horizons is a design-driven, critical exploration into technology, innovation, big thinking, and our constantly changing attitudes towards the three, told through projected visions of alternative energies and flight.
25/06/2015Created by Rosalie Yu & Alon Chitayat, the project aim was to create a series of self portraits that treat the body as a canvas for 3d drawing.
10/11/2014Earlier this year, Resonate festival was the host to Transcranial, a CAN initiated project bringing Klaus Obermaier, Daito Manabe and Kyle McDonald to Belgrade for two weeks to work on a new performance piece, creating a bridge between three festivals in Europe.
